Police making headway into double murder of Trelwany children

The Trelawny Police are reporting that they have made headway in the probe into the murder of  two children this week and expect an imminent  breakthrough. One person is in custody in relation to the case and they expect to make another arrest soon.

Ten-year-old Meleeka Mitchell and 12-year-old Omari Sterling, were kidnapped on the weekend and their bodies found on Tuesday. Meleeka’s body was found in bushes with the feet and hands bound, while Omari’s body was found in a pond a few feet away.

Head of  the Trelawny Police Superintendent, Willford Campbell, states that a main suspect has been identified. He has indicated that the father of one of  the children is facing prosecution in the matter as a result of negligence.
