Excellent reviews for rebirth

Portmore Dance Theatre Company has another successful staging

From all indications, the Portmore Dance Theatre Company (PDTC), more popularly known as the Portmore Dancers, had a successful staging of its Ninth Season of Dance, dubbed ‘Rebirth’, at the Holy Childhood High School Auditorium recently.

The crowd was treated to various genres of dance such as pop and folk.

Diandre Smith and Anthony Carson danced the emotional piecePara Siempre to an appreciative audience.

Other dance pieces included Mantle Solo, the Hunt,Awaken Quartet, Ice Princesses, Silent Cry, and Body Dynamics, while the juniors did Babies Divas. Proceedings closed with the dance/drama piece Dracula.

There was also a gripping dramatic piece, Gwellabella, that had the audience on the edge of its seats.

Anthony Carson, thechoreographer of the show, had this to say: “The reviews for the production rebirth were excellent. the viewershad so many things to say about the show that at some points, it was confusing. Every one had a favourite part of the show that they really appreciated, and although we are a dance theatre company, the drama stood out for some persons over the dance.”

At the end of the show, the audience applauded and asked for more. The annual praise show for the PDTC will be on Sunday, December 7.
