PORTLAND, Jamaica – Sixty-nine-year-old Myrtle Wright from Hector’s River, Portland died last night from injuries she sustained when she was hit by a Toyota Coaster bus.
Reports are that the incident occurred about 10:30 pm while Wright’s son was allegedly reversing the bus when it accidentally hit his mother who was standing behind it.
Wright was rushed to the Princess Margaret hospital in St Thomas where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Portland police are investigating.
The death is Portland’s first fatal motor vehicle accident in 2015. There were 11 fatal accidents last year.
