A man accused of chopping his aunt will stand trial in the matter after denying the allegations on Monday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.
He is Rohan Hyman, charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
Hyman denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty.
His aunt, the complainant in the matter, told the court what transpired on the day in question.
She said, “Your Honour, him climb on my fence and hit me in my head with a rum bottle.”
Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey told the accused the matter will have to be tried.
Hyman is to return to court on October 31, to stand trial.
