Garth McBean to serve as counsel in Tivoili Commission of Enquiry

Senior Attorney, Garth McBean, is to serve as Counsel to the Tivoli Commission of  Enquiry.       
Attorney-General Patrick Atkinson,on Friday confirmed that McBean who served in a similar role in the Manatt/Coke Commission of  Enquiry, will serve as Counsel in the upcoming Enquiry.
It’s understood that former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of  Education, Maria Jones, will be Secretary to the Commission.
A date has not yet been set for the Enquiry to begin.
Atkinson told RJR News that Retired Chief  Justice of  Barbados, Sir David Simmons, who was appointed Chairman of  the Commission of  Enquiry is due in the island soon.

He will meet with the other Commissioners Justice Hazel Harris and university lecturer Anthony Harriott to discuss arrangements for the enquiry.

The Tivoli Commission of Enquiry will  look into the conduct of operations by the security forces in Tivoli Gardens during the incursion of 2010 in which led to the death of over 70 persons.
