Director of Corporate Planning in the Ministry of National Security, Sandra O’Meally, is to act as Commissioner of Corrections.
She will take up duties on July 24 when Jevene Bent demits office.
A notice outlining O’Meally’s appointment has been circulated to trade unions representing Correctional Officers, as well as senior officers.
Well placed sources disclosed that Bent’s departure is linked to the Department of Correctional Services limited budget.
