Reggae Boyz 83rd in the world, but Costa Rica big mover in latest FIFA World Rankings

The latest FIFA world rankings shows CONCACAF’s Costa Rica as one of the confederation’s best teams.

The world cup quarter-finalists climbed 12 places to 16th place, just below the United States who fell two places to 15th.  Mexico inched two places to 18th, but bucking the trend of regional teams qualifying for the world cup was Honduras, who slipped  7 places to 40th.

The Reggae Boyz are ranked 83rd, a fall of two places.

Germany’s World Cup title has seen them return to the top of the world rankings for the first time in around 20 years. Argentina are placed second, an improvement of three places, with the Netherlands leaping 12 rungs into third after their impressive world cup third place finish.

Deposed world champions Spain slumped seven spots to their new modest placing of eighth, while disappointing Brazil dropped four spots to seventh.
