Sidrell's Gold !

Sidrell Williams won Jamaica’s first gold medal of the Caribbean Islands Swimming Championships, CISC, in Barbados.  

In a dominant performance, Williams won the 15-to-17 boys’ 100-metre butterfly in 57.68 seconds leaving in his wake Jabari Baptiste of Trinidad and Tobago 58.18 and Andres Solivan of Puerto Rico 58.62.  

It was one of six medals racked up by the country’s swimmers which brought their tally of medals to eight. 

Alexia-Royal Eatmon and Trudiann Patrick won silver medals in the 100 metre backstroke and butterfly races respectively for girls’ 18-and-over.  

Danielle Booth, the 200-metre individual medley silver-medallist, added bronze from the 100m backstroke.

There were also bronze medals for Timothy Wynter, 100 metre backstroke, and Leanne McMaster in the 200 metre breaststroke.
