Environment Minister Robert Pickersgill has been left in charge of the Government as Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller heads to Antigua for the CARICOM Heads of Government summit.
Leaders attending the summit, which starts on Tuesday and ends Friday, will consider a range of issues, including a report from the CARICOM Commission on the Economy and the status of negotiations for a CARICOM – Canada Trade and Development Agreement.
In addition, several business leaders from, and operating in CARICOM countries will discuss with the Heads of Government, economic priorities for the region.
Discussions will also be held with the Prime Minister of Spain on issues including advancing technical cooperation with CARICOM.
