Starting next month, Jamaican mango exporters will be able to send their fruit to the United States. This follows a recent decision by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.
Shipments will be allowed after October 20; however, the fruit will have to be produced free of pests.
It’s expected that Jamaica will send 261 metric tons to the US, or less than one percent of the country’s mango imports.
