Police seize ammo in Portmore, gun seized in Papine

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police are reporting the seizure of 15 9mm rounds early Saturday morning in Portmore, St Catherine and Papine in St Andrew.

It is said that in the first incident, about 3:00 am, the driver of a motorcar with three passengers was signalled to stop by police officers on duty close to the Portmore Toll Booth.

The driver failed to stop the vehicle and instead sped off. He was chased by the police and caught. The vehicle was searched and 10 9mm rounds found. All four passengers were taken into custody.

Meanwhile, the police in Gordon Town were able to seize a 9mm pistol that contained five rounds, during routine patrol in Papine Square, about 5 o’clock this morning. Two men have been arrested.

The police are probing the two incidents.
