Credit card debt on the rise

Credit card debt has risen more than four times in the last ten years in Jamaica.  
That’s according to data released by the Bank of  Jamaica. The data showed that at the end of  May, credit card debt was more than $28 billion. It was just under 7 billion dollars in 2004.      
Almost 80 per cent of credit card debt was denominated in the  local currency.
