Thursday, August 08, 2013DETECTIVES from the Half-Way-Tree CIB yesterday launched an investigation into a break-in at Appliance Traders Limited’s (ATL) Half-Way-Tree Road location.“Upon opening for business on Wednesday, August 7, employees discovered that the main showroom containing small appliances and electronics had been burglarised,” a release from the company stated. The incident caused a halt to activities at the store for several hours as police investigated the burglary.Police were, however, unable to give an estimate of the loss suffered by the company.Managing director of ATL and the Jamaica Observer Danville Walker assured customers that the ATL branch would be fully open for business today.“We will not allow this incident to mar our heightened summer sale season,” he said. “Our ATL team is working assiduously to have the showroom restored and reopened for business. We would like to thank the police for their rapid response and meaningful support during this time,” Walker said.Police, meanwhile, say they had strong leads that could help them to identify the robbers.
