Tuesday, August 06, 2013 | 5:54 PM/p>KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police personnel assigned to the St Andrew North Division, the Flying Squad and the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division (TCND) seized over 500 pounds of compressed ganja on Wickham Avenue, Kingston 8 on Tuesday.Reports received are that about 11:15 am the lawmen were patrolling the area when they observed a man acting in a suspicious manner. The man was accosted, and checks led the cops to a house in the area where a search revealed the illegal drug, which has an estimated street value of J$3 million.The operation then took the lawmen to Sayres Avenue, Kingston 10, where another house was searched and several cartons of cigarettes found. Investigators say they are awaiting confirmation from the Customs Department, but it is suspected that the cigarettes are uncustomed.Three men were taken into custody. Their identities are being withheld at this time.
