The Little Red Corvette hitmaker has deleted his Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts and removed his work from YouTube and Soundcloud just a year after joining the social networking websites.

However, his two latest albums, Art Official Age and Plectrum Electrum, remain available to stream on Spotify, and his official YouTube channel still features three videos, one of an old interview and two clips of the track Breakfast Can Wait.

He hasn’t given an explanation behind the abrupt move, which comes just over a month after he took part in a fan question-and-answer session on his Facebook page.

After being inundated with messages, he opted to answer just one question about sound frequencies by submitting a link to a lengthy article on the subject.

In 2010, the 56-year-old star declared, “the Internet is completely over,” and he once threatened to sue YouTube, along with eBay and torrent sites for illegally distributing his music.

At the beginning of the year, Prince abandoned plans to sue 22 alleged bootleggers for $1 million each after accusing them of posting footage of his concerts online.

The proposed legal action caused controversy because some of the sites named in the suit were fan sites, causing fury among his devoted supporters.

One forum user wrote at the time: “Yes, bootlegging is wrong, but … who is next? Dude will even go after regular ass fans … really sad. Prince will be remembered for making some of the most beautiful music ever created and for hating his fans.”

Reggae singer Prince Theo was in fine form last Sunday when he performed at the Boston Jerk Festival which was held at the Boston Community Centre in Portland.

Performing in the early segment of the event, which also featured big acts such as Admiral Tibet, Fab 5, George Nooks and Hezron, Prince Theo delivered a very spirited performance that was well received.

Singing original songs from his growing repertoire such as Just To Be Alive, Missing You and Royal Queen, he won the audience who showed their appreciation with loud forwards. His rendition of Dennis Brown’s timeless classic Should I, was also well received.

“This is my second time performing at the Boston Jerk Festival. the vibes was very good on both occasions. This time around it was even more special because the crowd was not very big but I was still able to move the people with my performance,” he revealed.

Missing You is sitting at number five on the Jamaica Music Countdown Top 25 Reggae Singles chart.

Eager to build on its success, Prince Theo is getting ready to release two new singles Dem Nuh Know and Royal Queen. Both songs were produced by Michael Coburn and will be released on his Reggae Vibes Production label.

NEW YORK (AP) — James Avery, the character actor who laid down the law as the Honourable Philip Banks in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” has died.Avery’s publicist, Cynthia Snyder, told The Associated Press that Avery died Tuesday in Glendale, California, following complications from open heart surgery. ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Prince Jazzbo, a roots deejay who recorded mainly in the 1970s, died Wednesday morning at age 62 from lung cancer at his home in Homestead, St Catherine.According to his daughter, Princess Omega Carter, her father “had basically prepared her for his passing.”“I’m trying to be strong,” she told the Jamaica Observer. She revealed that Prince Jazzbo’s (born Linval Carter) health had deteriorated considerably.“He was a very thick man, but leading up to his death he came down to nothing,” she explained.Until his health declined, Prince Jazzbo was active recording songs in his home studio.Jazzbo hails from Clarendon. On a day when most favourites failed to justify favouritism, the 5-2 chance Prince Theo defied the trend by winning the $528,000 Oswald “Ossie” Steele Memorial Cup feature by one-half-length at Caymanas Park yesterday.Well ridden by the leading rider Omar Walker for trainer Gary Subratie, Prince Theo, who after failing to go the earl pace, came charging forward after rounding the final quarter bend for his challenge. And with a determined run brushing the running rails he rallied strongly to be on level terms with the front-runners inside the final third before going on to register his second win of the season.It was a victory that was not totally unexpected by trainer Subratie. “I was fairly confident about his chances. I am usually pretty decent when it comes to preparing claiming horses and this one is quite a good horse. He ran no race on the last occasion and I could not fathom why. But I took him back to the track to work with him a bit and after that I thought that he was ready to go. As you can see, he ran a time of 1:13.1, which is the best time I think he has done in a long time.”Walker also showed confidence in his mount’s ability to get the job done. “All I needed to do is to get a clean break, which he did, and all I had to do was to sit and wait until leaving the three-furlong (600 metres) pole after which I asked him to run and he began to close really fast, so all I had to do was to keep him balanced until he hit the wire in front.”Aquamoto, a 9-2 bet ridden by Dick Cardenas, finished best of the rest after running prominently until Walker produced Prince Theo. Meru, a 3-1 chance ridden by the claiming apprentice Orlando Fosters, who also ran prominently, finished another one-half-length back. Real Vibes Machine, who was never worse than third just before setting down for the final 400 metres stretch run, completed the frame under claiming apprentice Renardo McNaughton at odds of 4-1 in the field of 11. A field of 12 was declared, but Ministerofjustice was a late scratch.Owned by True Friends, Prince Theo, a six-year-old dark bay colt by Image Maker out of Champion Melody (Pat N Jac) bred by Terence Strachan, was winning for the 10th time from 40 career starts, and earned $288,300 as the winners share.
