The police have expressed regret at the passing of another prisoner. The inmate, 50-year-old Dudley Warren of Above Rocks, St Catherine died in hospital on Saturday, where he had been admitted since September 6. It is not clear what was the cause of his death.
According to the police, Warren, who was mentally ill, was taken to hospital on several occasions prior to his last admission. He was arrested in May on sexual offence charges, but was deemed unfit to plea following a psychiatric evaluation.
The police say Warren appeared in court on September 29, where his medical condition was explained. He was granted bail with surety and was scheduled to return to Court on Wednesday, October 8.
