Thursday, July 11, 2013 | 7:28 AMKINGSTON, Jamaica –The policeman who shot and injured himself in St Ann earlier this week has died.Police report that Constable Dave Shackleford died in hospital Wednesday, a day after he was admitted in serious condition.The cop who was allegedly having domestic problems shot himself while visiting relatives at Hinds Town in St Ann on Tuesday. It was presumed that he had attempted suicide.The 36-year-old cop was assigned to the St Ann Street Crime Unit and had been with the Jamaica Constabulary Force for 10 years.This is the second suicide-related report involving the police in less than a week.Late last week a policeman was found dead at his Eltham, St Catherine home with a gunshot to the mouth.
