A teenage boy who was reportedly part of a gang that beat a street boy and kicked him into the Kingston Harbour, resulting in his death, failed in his efforts Wednesday to get his $200,000 bail reduced in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.The 19-year-old accused, Neco Harris, is charged with the May 23 murder of Curtis Thomas, who was reportedly beaten all over his body then kicked into the sea. Thomas’ body was found floating in the water the following day.Harris, who was implicated in the murder, was offered bail last Thursday, but his attorney Hadrian Christie, told Senior Magistrate Judith Pusey yesterday that the teenager’s mother was having difficulties posting bail in the sum of $200,000.Pusey, however, told the lawyer that she could not comply with his request but would accept his client’s mother as a surety.Harris is scheduled to return to court on August 20.
