Monday, July 22, 2013JAMAICA defeated Argentina 5-0 in their second match to make it two wins from two starts and thereby top Group C in the XXII Pan American Junior Badminton Championships in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, yesterday.Jamaica’s opponents for today’s quarters were not known up to press time yesterday.Earlier, Jamaica had defeated the fourth seed, Peru, 3-2.In Boys’ singles, Samuel Ricketts defeated Sebastian Macias 21-11, 10-21, 21-17; Katherine Wynter lost to Daniela Macias 16-21, 3-21 in Girls’ singles; Ricketts and Sean Wilson defeated Gonzalo Duany and Sebastian Macias 21-13, 19-21, 21-9 in Boys’ doubles; but Jade Clarke and Christina Petri lost to Camilla Garcia and Daniela Zapata 10-21, 5-21 in Girls’ doubles, and Jamari Rose and Wynter defeated Duany and Danica Nishimura 21-18, 21-14 in Mixed doubles.
