ALREADY known for helping to revamp businesses over a short period of time on The Innovators television show, Yaneek Page is now offering a similar service off screen through a boot camp programme.
Page, a certified trainer in entrepreneurism, said she started the programme, aptly called Innovators Boot Camp, to develop and fortify business knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for small business people to succeed in the current economic climate. Her company has already been offering innovation training to some of Jamaica’s leading companies, including GraceKennedy, and has expanded its services to SMEs.“Our business boot camps are intense one and two-day workshops which cover the essentials to achieve innovation, growth and business success,” Page said.According to Page, her most popular courses are Innovative Strategies to Drive Sales, Achieving Workforce Innovation, How to Write a Winning Business Plan, How to Earn Foreign Exchange from Services, Building a Successful Business and Introduction to Intrapreneurship.Page noted that not everyone has the time, resources and ability to enroll in a business degree programme or pursue an MBA, but said that access to business education is essential to empowering entrepreneurs to tackle the challenges of running a business and to achieve innovation, growth and business resilience. Against this background, she said that there has been increasing interest in the business boot camp service since it was started a few months ago.“Since doing the show, we realised there was a huge need for short business courses with high impact and great value and that’s what we’ve been delivering successfully for the past few months,” Page said.“We’ve already trained over 300 people and the results have been tremendous,” continued the certified trainer, adding: “In fact, we now have an online version of our Building a Successful Business Boot Camp which can be accessed 24/7 worldwide.”Apart from the apparent success of the training, she is also excited about the long term impact it will have on enterprise development in Jamaica,“My vision is to build a culture of entrepreneurial intellect and know-how in Jamaica. We have the ideas, creativity, ambition and drive. What is lacking is the knowledge, skills and tools to achieve greater success,” she said.Page is the creator and executive producer of The Innovators TV show.Innovators Boot Camp trainer, Yaneek Page (centre), with a group of participants following completion of one of the workshops.View the original article here
