Savana shoots video for "My World"

UK-based singer and songwriter Savana is currently in Jamaica.

On Saturday, he shot a video for his single My World on the RJ Records label, which is making waves in the UK, Europe and Canada and getting steady rotation in Jamaica.

The video was shot at several locations in St Andrew and St Catherine – namely, Savana’s home town of Homestead just outside of Spanish Town, and Fort Clarence beach.

Savana, who hosts a UK-based television show ‘The Reggae Showcase’ on Sky network, says he is glad to be back in his home country.

In 2003, Savana had three number-one hits in the UK on the Echo Reggae Charts and sold Silver in Germany and Japan. Selling well in South America, Canada, France, Germany and Japan, he entered the UK urban underground scene in 2003.

Savana has since exploded on to the Jamaican scene with heavy rotation on Irie FM and is getting heavy rotation on the two major television channels as well as cable channels.

Savana is featured in a remix with Alicia Keyes that became an underground favourite of her No. 1 track You Don’t Know My Name on the Reggae One Drop beat. He shared the stage with Vybz Kartel on his last UK tour in 2004, and Joe Budden in summer 2004, after which he won the UMA Best UK Reggae Act 2004, at the Urban Music Major Awards ceremony.

Savana’s rich and clear vocals will take Reggae music to another level, breaking down doors in the UK and the rest of the world while creating a hypnotic flavour by blending dancehall, R&B and Hip Hop beats to create a unique sound.

Frankie Wilmot shoots "Don"t Walk Away" video

Reggae crooner Frankie Wilmot has released a video for his new single, ‘Don’t Walk Away’.

“It was great fun shooting the video in Jamaica; we did scenes out by Port Royal and other locations in the Corporate Area. Reggae fans are really going to like this new Frankie Wilmot song and the new image,” a smiling Frankie Wilmot said.

The video will be officially released to cable and video outlets this week.

Frankie Wilmot, who is known for the 1980s hit reggae remake, Little Green Apples, has continued to record great music over the last two decades, touring Europe and Asia, where he has built up an excellent fanbase.

“This song isthe lead single from my new album, Rude Awakening, which will be released independently later this year. I have been touring and taking time out to raise my family,”FrankieWilmotsaid.

This will be his fifth studio album. The album will feature the aforementioned track and More Than Just a Friend among others.He will be shooting another video during the summer.

“I am very confident that the album will do well, as I have been working with producers such as Barry O’Hare, Rainbow Castle Productions and FAJ Music to make this album a reality. I will also be shooting a video for More Than Just a Friend to reconnect with my old fans and win over new younger ones,” he said.

Upcoming female singing sensation Sweet Lavish, has recently shot a music video for her new track ‘Good Friend Hard To Find’.

The video, directed by Cornelius Grant, was shot last week in several sections of Kingston and St Andrew and is set to be ready in two weeks time. The song was produced by Uganda’s Producah Kayz and was released on June 7 this year.

The 17-year-old, real name Brittney Ann-Garcia Marshall, has already impressed with her first studio effort, Life Hard, and is looking to repeat such feat with her latest work Good Friend Hard To Find.

In a release to the media, she thanked all those who made the music shoot possible. “I hope this will be my breakthrough material in music. I enjoyed myself on the shoot and I am sure the public will enjoy the video because a lot was put into it. I want to thank everyone for the support,” said Sweet Lavish.
