Yung JR enjoying US tour

Fast-rising reggae act Yung JR has been on the move. He recently made his debut at the famed Rebel Salute stageshow, where he was well received by the audience. The experience was an overwhelming one for the artiste.

“As a young entertainer, the response I received from the audience was great. It’s good to know that my music is being positively received by the masses,” he said.

Shortly after that performance, Yung JR left the island to embark on a tour of the US West Coast.

“He’s now in the US for a tour which finishes on February 8 and will be back to release his debut EP, Start The Movement,” said Adoney Reid of his management team.

The artistes said the tour has been going well. “I’m very happy with the crowd response at the shows so far. Reggae music is one of the most loved worldwide, so the people really seem to be connecting.”

Songs such as Raggamuffin and General are featured on the EP and Yung JR said fans will be thoroughly satisfied with the release.

“We’ve put a lot of work into creating the EP, and I’m confident that it will be welcomed by reggae music lovers worldwide,” he said.

Up and coming entertainer Mega C is enjoying the success of his latest single I’m Shining.

The song, featured on Push Hitz Records’ Unity Flex rhythm, is steadily gaining traction in Jamaica’s party scenes.

I’m Shining plays on the Jamaican slang ‘clean’, meaning looking good and ‘swagged out’.

The song’s chorus, “I’m shining/ I’m clean/ Anywhere yuh see mi a red gold and green/ From yuh see di king yuh see di African queen,” shows Mega C’s mentality that although he’s a Rastafarian, it doesn’t mean he can’t be ‘clean’.

Enjoying heavy rotation both locally and overseas, Mega C is very grateful for the support the song has been receiving.

“I’ve been doing music for a while now and I’ve finally begun to see my hard work pay off. I’m Shining is picking up all over the place – in Jamaica and also a foreign. Mi love how everything working out right now,” he said.

The video for I’m Shining was recently released and has been doing well on YouTube. It is also on rotation on television stations locally.

Mega C said he would continue to put his best foot forward to bring positive music to the masses.

“It’s only the best that I try to do when mi guh in the booth to record, suh people can just look out for more good music,” he said.
