Aidonia to invade Costa Rica on September 14

File – Aidonia

Following last week’s cancellation of his European concert in Amsterdam, Netherlands, due to unethical conduct by the organisers, Jag One Productions (JOP) front man Aidonia is again in high spirits afoot of his headlining gig in Central America this weekend.

Aidonia and labelmate Deablo are set to headline the much-anticipated Dancehall Xplotion in Costa Rica tomorrow. The heavily publicised event is expected to pull out. The billing also features Popcaan and Tommy Lee Sparta.

The Coco Powda singer is looking forward to performing for Central American fans and plans to deliver nothing but a top-notch set when he take the stage.

“Central America is one of my biggest fanbases. They always show a lot love and support for my music, so whenever the opportunity presents itself for me to perform there, they can expect nothing but the absolute best from me and team JOP,” said.

Locally, Aidonia continues to saturate FM radio with the newly released Coco Powda and Love Off Yuh Gal, the latter featured on the ZJ Liquid-produced ‘Good Book’ rhythm.

Aidonia gets ratings for Sumfest performance

Following a fiery performance from Aidonia at Sumfest, the dancehall boss has been receiving great reviews from local and international media and fans on his social media pages around the world.

Robbo Ranks from UK’s BBC Radio and DJ Norie from New York City radio station Power 105, who were at Sumfest, both shared the view that Aidonia delivered an excep- tional performance, one they had never seen before. They spoke about his growth in the business and said that he had the fans in his corner right there with him.

Many people were surprised to see Aidonia jumping off the stage and jumping fences to get to his fans and to perform for them in the general section. For this gesture, Aidonia has been compared to Akon and T-Pain, who both did the same thing at Sumfest some years ago.

“I just went out on the stage and gave my fans my all, enuh, but while on stage, I couldn’t really feel my general fans, and I saw they were enjoying the performance, so I decided to go and connect with them more, and trust me, it was a great feeling being out there. All now, I don’t know how me one jump the fence, but a just the works of Jah, yes I,” the deejay said.

Aidonia left the island on Thursday to perform in the Bahamas this weekend. He plans to give them a taste of his fiery Sumfest performance.

The deejay returns on Sunday to shoot a video and promote his new song, CoCo Powder, produced by Ancient Records. The single has already been garnering lots of views on YouTube and his social media pages.

Aidonia to launch clothing line

Fresh from a scintillating performance at the recently concluded Reggae Sumfest in Catherine Hall, Montego Bay, dancehall star Aidonia is set to launch his new clothing line within the coming weeks.

The deejay will be rolling out his apparel line for the summer. The collection will cater to both males and females with a line specifically for children to follow.

“Ever since my emergence in the music industry, I’ve always wanted to dabble into other aspects of business. Music and fashion go together and I think starting a clothing line will be a good marriage for my music and brand. It’s also something the fans have been demanding for years,” Aidonia stated in a release sent to THE STAR yesterday.

He continued, “Every time we go on tours people always asking for CDs and other paraphernalia, so I believe starting a clothing line is a step in the right direction in building the JOP brand.”

The line dubbed ’1V’ or ’1Voice’, coined from a popular slogan used during his performances will be prominently displayed on the T-shirts. The line will include tank tops, pullovers, hats and caps, all of which will be made available via selected stores across the island.

An official website will also be launched which will allow international fans to purchase their favourite products online.

Currently promoting singles such as 80s Dancehall Style, Don Deh Yah and the newly released Coco Powda, Aidonia says he’s working assiduously with his team to fine tune the business aspect of his new venture to allow for a smooth unveiling when the official launch date arrives.

Meanwhile, Aidonia along with Deablo and other members of the camp are expected to depart the island this week for a performance in The Bahamas.

Girls screaming and ‘getting on bad’ were some of the scenes that characterised another high-tempo performance by dancehall artiste, Aidonia, during the popular Rumbar Chug It party held at the Sugarman’s Beach in Hellshire, Portmore, last Sunday.

He came on stage with the hit single Run Road with his prot?g? Deablo joining him in pelting lyrics from the tune.

When the JOP boss drew the tune, Don Deh Yah, he received a huge forward and a female patron barged on stage to ‘dash it out’ in front of the artiste.

The artiste also sang the praise of the weed with “High Up Deh’(Lala Land) and showed his lyrical ability in his tribute to the various artistes that set the foundation in the dancehall with ’80s dancehall style.

Apart from the live performances, the crowd was also entertained by the Turbo girls, with their acrobatic moves, and the Rumbar Vodka Flex Week girls with their sexy gyrations.

The musical presentation included ZJ Ice from Zip FM, Ikel Marvlus and Flabba Dabba.
