Red Stripe Absinthe slated for tomorrow

Red Stripe, the world’s coolest beer, is well known for amazing events, especially during the summer.

This weekend will feature one of the brands’ signature and highly anticipated parties, Absinthe. The Hope Botanical Gardens will be the location for the seventh summer edition of Red Stripe Absinthe tomorrow to be held in association with Syndicate Events.

This year’s theme, Asian Sunset, will be depicted in the d?cor of the venue, along with the Asian cuisine, all courtesy of Patsy Lyn Caterers.

Patrons can look forward to enjoying Shrimp Tempura, Sweet and Sour Fish, Mallah Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, Crispy Roast Pork, Vegetable Spring Roll, Spicy Noodles, and Fried Rice. Also in store is high-energy entertainment by some of Jamaica’s top DJs from Coppershot and Chromatic disco as well as DJ Johnny Kool.

Dwayne Dacres, a member of Syndicate Events, promises a great night for all guests.

“Absinthe always tries to exceed patrons’ expectations. They can, therefore, look forward to having a great time with premium beer, premium food, and great entertainment at an affordable price,” said Dacres.

Erin Mitchell, brand manager, Red Stripe, said: “We are thrilled to be part of an event that continues to give its patrons great value. This year, we have changed our offer to ensure we are able to keep the price point accessible.”

Patrons can gain entry to the event for $2,000 presold and $2,500 at the gate, while reserved lounges and bottles services will also be available.

Red Stripe Absinthe slated for tomorrow

PrinceLevy slated for Izan"s pre-album celebration


Emerging reggae-dancehall artistePrinceLevy will be performing alongside Marcia Griffiths and Everton Blender during the pre-album release celebration of new artiste Izan.

The event will be held at the Spin nightclub in San Diego, California

“I am looking forward to this event because it will give me an opportunity to do other radio promotions while I am over in California,” he said.

The event will be held on July 17.

The artiste, who resides in Spanish Town, St Catherine, has taken the island by storm since the start of the year by consistently releasing singles that has demonstrated his ability to deliver high-quality, high-impact reggae music.

Earlier this year, he topped local video chart, Hitlist, on CVM TV, with Take It Slow. The single also pierced the HYPE TV Top 20 singles chart, and received major rotation on local stations such as RE, SWAG and MD TV.

In the meantime, Prince Levy’s second video release, London Bridge, aka Ganja Hail, peaked #1 on CVM TV’s Hitlist, while being rotated on other stations such as RE TV.

“Now I am feeling more confident that people are getting to knowPrinceLevy, especially the ladies,” he said with a sheepish grin.

Fans of his music can loook out for new singles such as Deep Feeling, released to radio last month. Take It Slow is available on iTunes and his videos can be located on YoutTube.

“My social-media presence has also increased and I saw a recent spike in my Twitter and Instagram when Ganja Hail video was released,” he said.

High School Link-Up slated for saturday

The seventh edition of Jamaica’s leg of High School Link-Up will blast-off this Saturday at the old police station in May Pen, Clarendon, with a $50,000 cash prize for the best high school dancer or dance group.

The Temperature Entertainment-produced international party series, which has already ‘shell-dung’ Toronto, London, and Miami, is one of the most anticipated summer parties in central Jamaica, with hordes of overseas patrons confirmed to pass through.

Temperature Entertainment’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), David Anderson, said the success of High School Link-Up has been exported overseas, and the 2014 Jamaican leg is set to be the biggest ever, with a large number of foreign interests logging on to High School Link-Up’s social media sites.

“High School Link-Up is one of Jamaica’s most anticipated party right now and has been replicated successfully in London, Toronto, and Miami,” declared the temperature entertainment CEO.

“Overseas, fans are riding the party Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts like crazy with likes and favourable comments, so it a go slap weh.”

Anderson said reassuringly that patrons at the party dubbed ‘The Battle Zone’ could look forward to partying in a secure, safe environment, with lots of giveaways, while being entertained by some of the best party sound in the business.

The line-up for this year musical juggling includes Obsession Sound, Gold Teeth, Niney Badness, Slaughter House, Little Riche, and DJ Biggs.

“High School Link-Up is an opportunity for past students to link up and have good, clean, fun with others who they went to school with and also to walk away with $50,000,” Anderson said.
