Divorce hits "Sister Wives"

“Sister Wives” star Kody Brown confirmed to E! News that he legally divorced his first wife Meri to marry his fourth wife Robyn.

Brown, who is also married, not legally, to Christine and Janelle, explained the decision was made by the entire family.

“We have chosen to legally restructure our family,” the Brown family said in a statement obtained by E! News. “We made this decision together as a family. We are grateful to our family, friends and fans for all their love and support.”

Robyn’s marriage woes played out on the TLC show about the polygamist family. She admitted on camera her doubts in being a part of a “plural marriage.”

“I’m happy on the good days and when Kody shows love and affection, but on a bad day, I question my importance to the family and if Kody still care about me,” Robyn admitted on “Sister Wives.”

Brown has 1 child with Meri, 6 with Janelle, 6 with Christine, 1 with Robyn who has 3 children from a previous relationship.

Sizzling Serena joins sister Venus in Australian Open last 16

MELBOURNE, Australia ( AFP) – World number one Serena Williams took time to wake up before sizzling into the Australian Open fourth round on Saturday, joining resurgent sister Venus and the dangerous Agnieszka Radwanska.

The American top seed, vying for a sixth Australian title and the first since 2010, was slow to get in the groove against 26th ranked Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, going down 6-4 in the first set.

But she shook off the cobwebs under the blazing sun on Rod Laver Arena to rattle through the next two sets 6-2, 6-0.

It keeps alive her quest to add a 19th Grand Slam title, which would take her to clear second on the all-time Open Era Grand Slam winners list.

She currently has 18 alongside Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova and is four behind German great Steffi Graf’s 22.

“When in doubt just start running as fast as you can, that’s what Venus always told me, that helped,” said Williams, whose world number one ranking is on the line if she fails to win the tournament.

She added that her sister’s late-career renaissance was an inspiration.

“She’s winning, she’s doing so well and I can do better. We always motivate each other. I’m so proud of her and we’re so excited.”

Fellow world number one Novak Djokovic and defending champion Stan Wawrinka play later Saturday, with the Serb’s chances of a fifth Australian crown improving after Roger Federer’s shock exit on Friday.

Women’s fourth seed Petra Kvitova, two-time champion Victoria Azarenka and men’s fifth seed Kei Nishikori are also in action, while eighth seeded Canadian Milos Raonic swept aside Germany’s Benjamin Becker in straight sets.

It was a day to remember for the Williams clan with Venus making the second week of a Grand Slam for the first time since Wimbledon 2011.

The evergreen 34-year-old battled back from behind to defeat Camila Giorgi of Italy 4-6, 7-6 (7/3), 6-1 and set up a fourth round clash with Radwanska.

“That feels fantastic, especially when you have things happen in your life which are out of your control,” said Venus, a seven-time Grand Slam winner who has had a long battle with the energy-sapping Sjogren’s Syndrome.

“I don’t want to leave it at that, I’ll try to keep going,” she added, clearly enjoying the moment in front of an appreciative crowd on Margaret Court Arena.

Poland’s Radwanska defeated American Varvara Lepchenko 6-0, 7-5 and has doled out a dreaded 6-0 “bagel” to each of her three opponents at Melbourne Park this year, lurking as a dangerous dark horse.

She said she was eagerly looking forward to facing Venus, who she beat in the Montreal final last year.

“I think playing her is always a great challenge,” said Radwanska, who has made the quarter-finals or better in Melbourne on her last four visits.

“I think she is still playing great tennis even she’s a bit older. She’s still really fit and playing a high level. I think it’s going to be another good match.”

Serena will next face Spain’s Garbine Muguruza, who overcame a mid-match stumble to beat Switzerland’s Timea Bacsinszky 6-3, 4-6, 6-0.

The 24th seed beat Serena at the French Open last year and said she was up for the challenge again in Melbourne.

“I think I don’t have nothing to lose. I don’t think I have pressure,” she said. “I like to play big matches on centre court, so I’m just really happy that I can play against her.”

The five-year-old brother of a girl who was beaten and starved to death by their mother brought food to her funeral so she would have enough to eat in heaven, it was revealed.
‘Monster mom’ Carlotta Brett-Pierce was found guilty of murder last month and sentenced to 32 years to life in prison yesterday.
Her four-year-old daughter Marchella died covered in bruises and open wounds and weighing only 19 pounds in September 2010. She was found drugged and beaten, tied to her SpongeBob SquarePants bed at the Brooklyn home.

The little girl, who was force-fed allergy pills, was often beaten in front of her brother Tymel.
Prosecutor Jacqueline Kagan revealed that Tymel, now seven, was deeply traumatized by the events he witnessed at home and still grieves for his sister.
When he attended her funeral, he had brought food with him so that he could help his sister.

Ms Kagan said: ‘He brought with him food because he knew she didn’t get enough. And he told his foster mother, ”I hope that she gets enough food and water in heaven,”’ according to the New York Post.
The month-long trial of Brett-Pierce, 32, in a Brooklyn court room finished quickly on May 9 with the jury requiring only one hour to deliberate over her guilt.

When Marchella Brett-Pierce was found, she was tied to her bed with jump ropes, had been beaten, starved and drugged.
Prosecutors say she had dozens of marks and open wounds on her tiny body which was so emaciated, every rib could be seen.
Carlotta Brett-Pierce was emotionless when the jury proclaimed her guilty of her daughter Marchella’s death. Her punishment did not even stop her from giving the judge some attitude when asked if she understood.
‘I heard what you said,’ the 32-year-old said.

She has refused to accept blame for the death of her daughter, blaming the jurors, lawyers and the press for her murder conviction, calling it a ‘tragedy’.
Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Patricia DiMango said yesterday: ‘This child, at her tender age, was subjected to a hell that no one should have to endure.
‘What kind of person could do this to a child, let alone their own child?’ she said, according to DNAinfo.com
During the trial, Brett-Pierce’s answers painted a ghastly picture of their home life.
She said of her daughter near the time of her September 2010 death: ‘To me, at the time, it didn’t look bad.’

Brett-Pierce said that her daughter lost weight by running around in the heat and sustained the bruises from falling in the stairway.
Judge DiMango also sentenced grandmother Loretta Brett to five to 15 years in prison for manslaughter in the death.
Throughout the trial, her lawyers switched between disproving the prosecutions tales of horrific beatings and arguing that Brett-Pierce was an overwhelmed mother with a sick daughter that she didn’t know how to care for.
Marchella spent the first three-and-a-half years of her life in hospital after she was born prematurely with severe breathing difficulties.
Her mother admitted on the stand that in the seven months she was in her care, she never took the four-year-old to a pediatrician.

A prosecutor showed the mother a doctor’s note indicating that her youngest boy weighed 18 pounds at nine months – roughly the same weight as four-year-old Marchella when she died.
She told the court she fed her daughter ‘potato chips, fried chicken and cheese doodles’, but an autopsy recorded that only a single corn kernel was found in her body, along with a high level of antihistamines.
Marchella should have been on a specialized diet and fed through a tube, which prosecutors say the mother totally ignored, instead feeding her junk food.

During questioning she denied certain things she had already told police and called Marchella ‘my baby’ as opposed to ‘that b***h’ – which she was heard calling her in a recorded jail conversation played for the jury saying: ‘That b***h wasn’t that f***ing light.’
When she was released from hospital seven months before her death, she weighed 26lbs- a stark contrast from her final weight of 18.9 pounds.
The Administration for Children’s Services became involved with the family after Brett Pierce gave birth to a boy who tested positive for drugs.
Two social workers from ACS who had involvement in Marchella’s case were charged separately with criminally negligent homicide for failing to prevent the tragic death.
Damon Adams and Chereece Bell were both charged with criminally negligent homicide, official misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child. Their case is due to begin.

A man who was allegedly doused with water his sister had reportedly used to wash her panties was brought before the court on assault charges yesterday.

Junior Belnavis of a Corporate Area address is charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

When the matter was mentioned in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court, the Crown alleged that an altercation developed between the siblings after Belnavis’ sister accused him of using her soap. During an argument in the bathroom, his sister allegedly used a cistern containing her ‘panty water’ to throw in his face, which led to him assaulting her.

The complainant also told the court that he was always going into her panty drawer to steal her money.

Another story

Belnavis, however, offered another story, he said that he went to use the shower and his sister assumed that he was going to use her soap.

After hearing the arguments of both siblings, Senior Resident Magistrate (RM) Judith Pusey became livid with the accused, who had appeared hot and bothered.

“You took it too far. It’s a little panty water, it won’t poison you,” the RM said to him.

She then told him, “what if your brief water had touched her? You need to stop it!”

When the RM was about to fine him $10,000, his sister jumped in saying that she wanted the matter to be settled another way as they were always going to fight. The matter was set for intervention so that they could sort out their problems.

Popcaan"s sister hosts sex advice programme

Squid, more popularly known as Popcaan’s big sister, is one of the new presenters for Suncity radio 104.9 FM first late night interactive radio talk show that will give advice on sex and relationships.

“This one-hour programme will be hosted by newcomers Danieshka and Squid, and was produced after the many request of listeners,” shared Steve Billings, chairman of Suncity 104.9 FM.

Like many relationship talk shows, ‘Naughty Talk’ will concentrate on topics such as cheating, meeting the parents, spicing up your sex life and much more.

The first programme aired featured the sultry dancehall artiste Danielle DI.

Danieshka, one of the presenters of the programme added, “The reception towards the first airing was amazing. the feedback from callers and even on social media made it clear that this programme was needed to spice up everyone’s Thursday night”.

Suncity 104.9 FM is the only radio station in Jamaica to have all themed days and as such ‘Naughty Talk’ airs on Lovers’ Thursday from 10 to 11 p.m.

“It is very important for radio in Jamaica to keep reinventing itself; ‘Naughty Talk’ is an unbiased show that does not discriminate against any race, social class, or lifestyle and that’s one of the reasons it’s so interesting to listen to,” shared Billings.

‘Naughty Talk’ will feature other guests such as D’Angel and the comical LA Lewis, just to name a few.
