Police personnel from Sligoville station in the St Catherine North Division, yesterday arrested two men who were allegedly found with a quantity of cable belonging to telecommunications provider LIME.

Reports are that about 12:30 a.m., police personnel were on patrol in the area. A green coloured Honda Fit motor car was spotted with two men aboard. It was signalled to stop and the driver complied.

During a search of the trunk, a large quantity of the cable wire was discovered.

Further checks revealed that the cables were removed from several utility posts in the area.

Contact was made to technical personnel at the telecommunications companies and it was identified as the property of LIME.

Meanwhile, the names of the suspects have been withheld by the police pending further investigation.

The Star was informed that the vehicle in which the men travelled was rented last Wednesday.
