A dog has swallowed 44 socks.
Doctors were shocked to find the Great Dane had consumed the startling amount of footwear as they battled for two and a half hours to save his life at the veterinary clinic in Portland, Oregon, reports Mirror.co.uk.
The dog was taken to the surgery by his worried owners after he stopped eating and vomited continually over a two-week period.
A source said: “It was just incredible.
“Over the years, we’ve seen animals swallow all manner of things but nothing like this before.
“He had a collection inside him any sock shop would be proud of.”
