FLORIDA-BASED singjay A-Me-Jah Prophet is spreading the message of love and unity through his music.
“We need more love in the world. We are struggling for so much, and at what cost?”
That moved him to pen Where Is The Love. Released last October, the track was produced under his NUMLIG (Nation Under Maximum Litigative Insufficient Grounds) imprint.
“My songs are message filled and I believe, sooner or later, they will resonate in the right ears and go places,” he said.
He said the response to the single has been favourable.
In his late 40s and a nurse by profession, A-Me-Jah Prophet (given name Lester Ingram) thinks he has a lot to contribute to the music industry.
“I always knew that some day I would pay attention to this love of mine, but being a father I had to be practical and put down roots,” he said.
Born in Kingston, A-Me-Jah Prophet spent the better part of his teenage years in Clarendon where he developed an appreciation for music. He migrated to the US in 1986.
His other releases include Happy Million Year and Human Systematic Struggle.
