GILLIAN Hyde has been appointed general manager of JN Small Business Loans (JNSBL), effective January 1, 2015. She succeeds Philip Bernard, who demits office on December 31, 2014.
Hyde, who is currently the executive in charge of Jamaica National Building Society’s (JNBS’s) Enterprise Contact Centre and Member Ombudsman, is a former senior manager, budgeting, performance measurement and reporting at JNBS.
The announcement of her new post was made recently by JNSBL Chairman Parris Lyew-Ayee.
“Mrs Hyde brings extensive finance and management experience to the post, having served JNBS in several capacities prior to accepting the offer to become the general manager of JNSBL,” a company news release quoted him. “She will continue the work which Mr Bernard started during his 18-month management of the country’s premier micro finance company.”
According to the company release, Hyde joined Jamaica National in 2003, working in the area of Finance and Corporate Strategic Planning, where she played an integral role in charting the path for the achievement of significant milestones throughout the company.
“In her recent role as executive with responsibility for the JN Enterprise Contact Centre, she guided her team in delivering excellent customer experiences through all channels,” the company said.
Lyew-Ayee expressed confidence that Hyde would strengthen and widen JNSBL’s reach within the microfinance sector, given her professional financial background and her recent experience in the area of customer service.
“I believe she will use her experiences to further position JNSBL as a company that can deliver the resources and management skills that its clients need to excel in the small business sector,” Lyew-Ayee added.
