MARLON Hill, a Jamaican-born lawyer based in South Florida, has merged his law firm Delancyhill PA with a larger firm, Hamilton Miller & Birthsel LLP (HM&B), effective January 5, 2015.
Hill is a former Diaspora Advisory Board representative for the Southeast USA. He also sits on the board of Kingston Live Entertainment (KLE), the Jamaica Stock Exchangelisted company.
Hill co-founded his law firm in 2001 with Michelle Delancy as a litigation and transactional boutique law firm. Both Hill and Delancy have joined HM&B as partners.
The Florida-based law firm specialises in insurance defence and coverage, premises liability, medical and professional liability, labour and employment, admiralty and maritime, construction and complex business litigation.
In addition to its US offices, the firm has offices in Jamaica, the US Virgin Islands and The Bahamas.
The move to merge means “we can now leverage our success as a boutique law firm by merging with an established mid-sized firm”, Hill said.
“We look forward to supports and expanding our national and international presence with the deeper resources of HM&B.” Hill was educated at St George’s College in Kingston before continuing his education in Florida.
He holds a JD in law from Florida State University in the USA. Hill is a member of the Florida Caribbean Students Association and the Caribbean Bar Association.
