Demarco ignores Masicka diss

Chad Bryan, Staff Reporter

Dancehall recording artiste Demarco has played down suggestions made that there is a feud between himself and fellow dancehall artiste Masicka.

Responding to questions from On Stage’s Winford Williams last Saturday night about clashing or responding to claims being made by Masicka, Demarco showed no interest.

“You know what Corey needs to do? Corey needs to invest in a product like how Corey did invest in a product for Konshens, but for Masicka and call it Masicka’s nylon, hard to buss. Nobody wants to look at him (Masicka),” he said to questions posed by Williams.

Tough talking

Demarco also claimed that there was no feud between himself and Konshens.

Previously, a tough-talking dancehall firebrand Masicka had laid down the gauntlet to rival deejay Demarco with a scathing diss track called Cyan Frighten We. The track has gone viral on social media racking up 38,000 views in just one week.

He makes repeated references and certain allegations about Demarco.

However, it is the chorus which has triggered most attention in the dancehall underground.

Masicka rhymes menacingly:

Du nuh cry fi cree, probably frighten Konshens

But yu cannot frighten me

Friend dem weh mi par wid, will take your life fi free

Gal dem say yu …., stop gwaan like yu a g

Among other hardcore lines.

“Demarco did a song where he called me a mosquito, which it seems like him a try style my career and no matter who try that, mi have to respond. Demarco has some nice melodies and nice songs but in no way, no how, he is not lyrically bad,” a tough-talking Masicka said.

“I don’t want people think is a plan fi Sting, we have to show is music and entertainment this, and we have to defend it if anybody ah try style we in the streets. So just expect me to walk out on anybody over Sting, even Demarco, just come prepared. The song ah cl… dem wicked, if him no answer, the streets dem a go know say him is a real punk, a gi-gi, chatty mouth.”
