LIME introducies new prepaid Internet packages

TELECOMS firm LIME will today introduce four new mobile prepaid Internet packages that will see customers paying as low as $300 for 30-day access.

“We are delighted once again to solidify our market leader position with these new mobile Internet packages and will continue to offer Jamaicans the best value for their dollar,” said Dwight Williams, LIME Head of Products, in a press release.Starting today, the new plans will see LIME offering 30-day access to 250MB for $300, 500MB for $500, and 1GB for $800 and 2GB for only $1,500.“Access to the Internet is no longer a luxury and our customers will now be able to pay as much as 88 per cent less for 30-day access to the endless possibilities available on the Web. We have added new packages to allow maximum affordability for any customer’s budget,” Williams highlighted.“We recognise that customers have individual habits with regards to their use of the Internet, and so our new plans are designed to give them greater choice for their pockets, lifestyle and usage,” Williams added.Customers who exhaust the data allocation of their selected plan before the 30 day period will be able to renew the plan as many times as desired.LIME will also retain its ‘one day data pass’ that will see customers paying $50 to $100 for 50MB or 500 MB access, respectively. ‘Pay As You Go’ data customers will pay $40 per megabyte for access to mobile Internet. These new plans, the company said, are only applicable to prepaid mobile customers and subscribers will receive usage text notification when they have used up 75 per cent, 95 per cent and 100 per cent of volume. To access the new plans customers must dial *129# and follow the instructions in the menu offered on any data-enabled phone.LIME added that, for today and tomorrow, it will be offering prepaid customers a free Android smartphone, the Alcatel OT-4010 (T’POP), with the purchase of $4,000 (GCT not included) in mobile top-up and the activation of any of the new 30-day prepaid mobile Internet plans.Post-paid customers will also benefit from the T’POP offer as they will get the smartphone free of cost with sign-up for LIME’s Ultra Pak 300 or higher and a post-paid mobile Internet plan, the company said, noting that the T’POP offer is available at select LIME locations while stocks last. Coinciding with the reduction of its 30-day mobile data package rates, LIME will be offering its prepaid and postpaid customer the device free of cost with select credit purchases and plan subscriptions.
