More than a dozen states plan to cancel health care policies not in compliance with ObamaCare in the coming weeks, affecting thousands of people just before the midterm elections.

“It looks like several hundred thousand people across the country will receive notices in the coming days and weeks,” said Jim Capretta of the Ethics and Public Policy Center.

The policies are being canceled because states that initially granted a reprieve at the request of President Obama are no longer willing to do so.

In coming weeks, 13 states and the District of Columbia plan to cancel such policies, which generally fall out of compliance with the Affordable Care Act because they don’t offer the level of coverage the law requires.

Virginia will be hardest hit, with 250,000 policies expected to be canceled.

And because federal law requires a 60-day notice of any plan changes, voters will be notified no later than November 1, right before the Nov. 4 midterms.

Many of those forced out of their current plans and into ObamaCare may not be able to keep their doctors. They also could face higher deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses, making ObamaCare an election issue on the eve of voting.

Obama had originally unequivocally promised that underhis health care plan, everyone could keep their doctors and plans.

In 2009, he told the American Medical Association, “If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period.If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period.No one will take it away. No matter what.”

The president later was forced to admit that any plan without the additional benefits required under ObamaCare faced cancellation.

But that unleashed a nasty political backlash, forcing him to back down and call for states and insurers to extend those policies forthree more years.

Some said he didn’t have much choice. “There were some five or six million people who were at stake here and the federal exchange was in no condition to even process a few hundred thousand people much less millions,” said Joe Antos of the American Enterprise Institute.

Many states flatly refused to extend and now comes the new round of states that plan to cancel policies.

A video of a policeman giving a woman oral sex in a car in May Pen, Clarendon, has become the hot topic on the lips of almost everyone in the rural town.

The 18-minute-long video which began circulating last Wednesday, has become so popular that it has gone viral on social media and DVD copies have been made and are selling like hot bread in and around May Pen. The DVD reportedly costs $200.

Reports reaching THE STAR are that the policeman, a constable, who is well known in the town has hardly been seen in the area since the video went viral, much to the delight of many people, mostly vendors and transport operators. Many have complained of being targeted and verbally abused by the constable.

Vendors wasted no time in ‘bunning out’ the policeman, who many have now renamed Constable Namsterdom, apparently a spin off from deejay J-Amderstam who has publicly admitted to giving women oral sex.

“Him mek we can’t sell in peace, everyday him come run we down, and you see what him go do? Tell him say come run we down now nuh,” a vendor told THE STAR. “You see the boy tongue how it big and long. No sah, a no tongue that, a vacuum cleaner.”

A colleague of the policeman complained that his indiscretions have brought the force into disrepute. “We can’t even walk on the road without people a trouble we … but a run them fi run wey that and make him go a him yard with him nastiness,” the cop insisted.

The tape, which was reportedly made in a car parked at the May Pen Police Station, begins with the policeman issuing a number of orders to his female companion. “Mek sure you video me good enuh, mek sure,” he ordered, at one point, while sticking out an enormous tongue in the direction of the camera.

After paying attention to the woman’s breasts, the cop quickly sat down to ‘eat’ as the woman lets out a few moans. “You know say me a dog,” the cop, who is reportedly married, declared.

The act was interrupted briefly when a curious intruder stumbled upon them, but they quickly resumed after the unashamed policeman raised his head and let off a string of bad words, before returning to the act.

These are certainly not the best of times for Jamaica’s football, but in the gloom a bright spark emerged in its fading Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign in the shape of the irrepressible striker Jermaine ‘Tuffy’ Anderson.

Sadly, not many Jamaicans were inside the National Stadium to witness the spectacular return of ‘Tuffy’, as local fans frustrated with the performance of the Reggae Boyz surrendered the home turf to thousands of Costa Rican supporters who filled out the grandstand.The proverbial 12th man that the players had so banked on for support, did not show for the game. Instead, the once impregnable ‘Office’ was transformed into a sea of red, blue and white of the Costa Ricans, who drowned out the faint Jamaican chorus in the distance.‘The Office’ was conquered.The Waterhouse striker — who is very popular with the people of Jamaica with his free-scoring ways in the local Premier League, showmanship and his onfield enthusiasm — made a glorious return to the national set-up by scoring in the Reggae Boyz’s must-win match against Costa Rica on Tuesday night inside the National Stadium.Anderson’s time-added goal gave Jamaica a stay of execution in the hexagonal play-offs when he equalised against the Central Americans after coming on as a sub in the 68th minute.Another substitute, Randall Brenes, had given the Costa Ricans the lead in the 74th minute.Jamaica head coach Winfried Schafer praised Anderson for the role he played since entering the field of play.“When ‘Tuffy’ came in he changed the game for us, he came in with power, I am not happy that we got only one goal as he had a big chance for one before, but he got one after that,” said the German, in charge of his second game after guiding the Boyz in last Friday’s 0-0 tie away to Panama.Schafer, speaking to reporters after Tuesday night’s game, said it was always a part of the plan to inject Anderson at some point of the contest.“We will need ‘Tuffy’ at home for the last 15 minutes or so, I had said… for this match we needed a good stadium, as you see there were more Costa Ricans in the stadium than Jamaicans.
